We precision manufacture and repair all types of stenter pinplates and other pinned products. We make them for all stenter machine types as well as bespoke pinplates and pin blocks for other textile machines.
Pinplates are usually manufactured in CZ121 brass with a polished brass or nickel finish. J.W. Stead’s have one of the world’s largest pin stocks and all our pins are made in the United Kingdom and Germany from stainless or carbon steel.
Most popular makes of pinplates are in stock and others can be manufactured very quickly on receipt of a sample or technical drawing. We can easily adapt standard designs to suit your needs, so you can keep pace with the changing face of textile manufacture. We drill a full range of pin gauges from 23 gauge (0.71mm) to much larger pins. We can also make some designs in stainless steel.
J.W. Stead offer a unique repair service for your used pinplates. We can remove damaged pins from your old pinplates as well as deposits of grease or latex, polish the old brass bodies (or nickel coat if you require) and then replace the pins. The finished product is usually like an as new condition.
There are many advantages of the repair process: it can be up to 70% cheaper than buying new, pinplates can be reused many times so they are not going into landfill or being scrapped and you can use this service to alter the length of your pin.
